Popularized by the works of Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoyevsky, samovars were often centerpieces of holiday dinners and are symbols of hospitality that ensure guests always have access to hot tea. Updated for modern use, the samovar has a 1,500-watt heating element that warms the water in the 100-oz. tank and keeps the tea concentrate in the 34-oz. removable teapot hot. Guests simply fill their cup with tea concentrate and adjust the strength of their drink by adding hot water from the tank's spout. The water temperature adjusts from 140º F to 212º F via the integrated thermostat. The water reservoir has a limescale filter and the teapot has a removable filter for straining loose-leaf tea.
